I use iTunes and for the most part it's pretty cool but when it comes to finding artwork for CDs when I rip CDs to my computer I give it an "F". I know I have the box checked for "Finding Missing Album Art" but it really never finds the artwork, I end up going to amazon.com or google images for the artwork or the artist's picture. We have broadband and I always have a Firefox browser open so what's the deal?
I find myself using more and more Musicmatch Jukebox or MediaMonkey. I have the box check for finding artwork on these two music apps and for the most part they get the job done. I'm not saying iTunes should be perfect but you would think for music especially iTunes would be the "Best of the Best" when come to that. I know the when you download music from iTunes the CD artwork is encoded with the track but you would think with the huge library iTunes has so when I load a CD in my laptop iTunes would find the CD artwork and tag it with the tracks...but most times it does not. This is why if any is a audio geek like myself I recommend Musicmatch 10 ( {Yahoo owns Musicmatch Jukebox}for the the basic player it's free...to upgrade it's about $20 or a little more). I'm not saying Musicmatch is the "end all of be all" music application but to me it gets the job done. I have earlier version of Musicmatch but for some reason it started acting funky and then I realize, Yahoo reached in my system and "made" begin using the updated version of Musicmatch (that is my main drawback with most of these companies. When they have a upgrade version they really make you use the newer version and sometimes it's worse than it's earlier programs...Why do you think Microsoft have not released Service Pack 3 for XP? They're talking 2008 when service pack 3 will be released but I have a sneaky feeling they will really begin to try to phase out XP)
MediaMonkey is another cool music application I have used in the past I think I will really begin utilizing it more and more. I don't know about Songbird, I have to play around with that as well.
To my geek brothers and sisters out there....do you know of any programs out there that will find CD artwork really well when it comes to ripping your CDs to your system? (Maybe I will begin using Media Player 9). Help me out fellow geeks and geekettes. ^_^
